It was a quiet weekend in which I finished my book, Isaac Asimov - The Complete Robot: The Definate Collection of Robot Stories, watched Daylight and part of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan on the television and attended a get together for a student who I got to know who was going away on a research trip overseas.As evident by my previous posts, I once again got into the webmaster role and made changes to the current website template which all pages now use.

I have had comments from a fellow British man who is on the same working holiday program that I am on which come across as patronizing for not venturing out at all on Sunday and for not watching every film that I am interested in at the cinema. Well I do what I want with my time and even though my weekend may not have been the most productive, I am happy with how I have spent my time.

Last Wednesday I visited Toronto Islands and ventured over half. Before I set out I heard about London’s Olympic games selection for 2012 and was completely surprised and felt pride and exhilarated. I kept an eye on events in London for many hours on Thursday on BBC World, unable to quite take in what was happening.

I watched War of the Worlds last week which was OK - the acting was good - but I felt that the development of the plot was a little thin and the ending - even though expected - was not brought in well enougth over the cause of the film.

Well, this week I plan to:

• Get my sleep pattern back in order: completely out of synch at the moment.
• Do some revision as I have a resit in quantatative economics in September at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU).
• Visit:
• Ontario Science Museum.
• Other half of Toronto Islands.
• Toronto’s First Post Office.
• Art Gallery of Ontario.
• City Hall.
• Spadinia House.
• Tommy Thompson Park.

As well as a few hours work at the University of Toronto I shall be having quite a week. I’ll post everyday now with details of my going one’s. Don’t forget to leave some comments now!

I’ve not posted for quite a few days so here is a
quick summary. I’ve left my job on the grounds that
market research over the phone was not for me and also
for other reasons regarding the business which I’d
rather not go into detail of here.

Yesterday I took a trip up to Toronto Zoo, which is to
the east of the city centre. It took an hour to get
there by subway and bus (Which only cost 2.50 pounds
return). I had a good day their and covered the entire
zoo, which amazed me due to the vast size of the zoo
and the fact that I was not even tired at the end of
it. The zoo is split up into five different areas
representing different areas of the planet. Some of
the areas of the zoo where indoors with replicated
climates for the animals within. But to be honest it
was cooler indoors yesterday as it turned out to be a
very hot day. Yet again I caught the sun but did not
burn. The sun protection cream I am using must be
excellent as with the sweat I was producing I’m
surprised it did not evaporate away!

Which reminds me I still need to get a hat. Thankfully
I took a lot of bottled tap water with me and refilled
at water fountains. If I had’nt I’d have either passed
out or have no money left from buying bottled water.

Hi all.

Well I’m currentley working five hours a day on a
market research job which I mentioned last Thursday.
It’s not the most fun job I’ve ever had but it will do
for now.

last Friday I went to my first baseball game! It was
at the Skydome (Rodgers Centre) in downtown Toronto
witht the Blue Jays playing to some team who I forget
the name of. To say I found it boring is an
understatement. I used to think cricket was slow, but
this was slower and 100 times more boring. Three hours
and a bit of a ball being thrown and nobody hitting it
much. Also, I was in one of the cheaper seats quite
high up and the cool wind made it so cold after a
while, espcially as I was only wearing a t-shirt. They
actually opened the Skydome at one point and we all
thought they would close it due to the wind and
temperature but no. Must have wanted everybody to go
and buy hot drinks and food during the game, which
nearly everybody and myself did.

Well I’m basically in a routine now of getting up,
breakfast, going to work, leaving work and going food
shopping and then coming back to my room and eiter
reading and going to bed or watching TV and going to
bed. This trip was supposed to show me the Canadian
workers life, and I guess it’s doing that. Not all fun
and games!
