The last week or so…

Over the last week I have had several interviews with
various companies in my effort to find a job. On
Tuesday and Wednesday I completed a trial period with
a telemarketing firm, selling subscriptions to
Canada’s Globe and Mail newspaper, but I was not
offered a position. Today I am going to a meeting at a
market research company regarding a market researcher
position. If its like Tuesdays and Wednesdays work,
which was basically cold calling people, I may not
take to it, but I am prepared to give it a try. I’m
still going to be keeping an eye out for other
positions, with the exception of the telemarketing
area. Dependent on how things work out today, I may
register with a work agency on Friday.

It’s cooled down nicely over the last few days. On
Monday I was caught under an expressway bridge as a
thunderstorm passed over the city, and it was great as
from the expressway, which is near to Lake Ontario I
could see the main city skyline and the thunderstorm
going over it. I was a little worried when the rain
started to cause overflows on the drainage system from
the expressway I was standing under, but I managed to
position myself not to get wet, remarkably considering
the volume of water coming down from the expressway. I
was relatively hear to the CN tower, which for a while
was partly blanketed with cloud. I’m glad I was not
one of the tourists up there!

The thunderstorm on Monday afternoon cooled the air
down and its remained cool ever since. It heats up a
little at times, but a thunderstorm usually cools it
back down again. Unfortunately this is not always true
as with yesterday, with the weather patterns the city
has, the storms are usually blown away from the city.
